Day 4, 5 & 6
Day 4 - It was a wonderful class with candlelight yoga and live music. We made a dedication after class:
"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Ohm Shanti Shanti....."
And I enjoyed it.
Day 5 - Anusara....the more I take Anusara, the more I am enjoying it and so does my body. Taking 5 breathes at each posture and focusing on your alignment while using Tantric Philosophy is about gaining inner peace and learning how to relate to your practice. Some say that Tantric Philosophy is a process of learning how not to be selfish, and serving the needs of others first. In the process, you will be happier and lead a higher quality life.
How does the philosophy relate to my practice? The following quote will serve the purpose of understanding:
“Flowing with Grace, anusarena, we experience our inner worth, we align our bodies, our minds and hearts in the current of the Divine flowing through us, we celebrate life itself as we touch the Divinity who pulsates within us as our every thought, feeling, and experience.”
~~Dr. Douglas Brooks
Day 6 - What a wonderful morning! I love waking up to mornings like these! Yoga today was slow and peaceful. I actually took the last 15 minutes of class, stayed in savasana, and took a nap. It felt great!
Later on....I had some revelations and shared that common understanding with a loved one.

Day 2
Sore from yesterday's high endurance practice, I took it alot easier in tonight's Power Yoga Level 2-3.
Mostly, my eyes were closed so I can concentrate on my breathwork while engaging the root lock.
As I went into bakasana, I knew to be gentle with my practice since I was a little shaky.
I was careful not to go overboard or even proceed to try the other difficult postures. Instead, I held back and kept breathing while listening to my body as I embraced others Eka Pada Koundinyasana II.
Soon enough, I will be embraced while flying through Eka Pada Koundinyasana....

Day 1
I had no idea that I had a hidden endurance in my core, which I am proud to say that my mulabhanda has finally kicked in after all these years.
Today was a great first day with Ashtanga Level 1-2. I listened to and followed my teacher's voice, Shawn, as he focused on the core muscle and to always synchronize your breath with your postures as you tighten your core.
I felt weak in other places, but I finally got it. It all begins with the core, the mulabhanda, the root lock.
I feel great and am ready for more...

Today is the Pre-Cleanse Day
Today is supposed to be my DAY 1 of Veggie Cleanse and Daily Yoga. However, an unexpected surprise came up to watch Cirque de Soleil Elvis at 7pm tonight. How could I ever miss that? When I was 5 years old in Philippines, I had the biggest crush on Elvis Presley and grew up believing that I was going to move to America to marry him. Little did I know, that Elvis had already been deceased for many years! LOL!
Hence, watching the show would not allow my first day of Yoga to happen since the time slot is nearly the same. So today, I proceeded with my veggie cleanse anyway, therefore calling today my Pre-cleanse day which is to prepare my body, mind and spirit for the vigorous days of cleanse and yoga challenges. Today was getting my digestive system ready to consume all vegetables and counting my protein to ensure that my weight remains as is.
It is harder to kick off the caffeine habit rather than the cigarettes. I am not thinking of having a smoke, but I was itching for coffee and feeling less alert. The nice chair in the back of the Interiors Library was on my mind all day.....napping would have been real nice but impossible.
My breakfast today was a glass of Almond Milk and 2 boiled eggs. An hour later, I ate an apricot. Followed by string cheese.
For lunch, I had a big salad of Kale, lettuce, horse radish, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, raw almonds and feta cheese; with olive oil, honey and lemon dressing:
After lunch, I made sure to snack every hour. I had a bowl of cottage cheese, a bag of yummy soybean chips dipped in lentil sauce and another string cheese.
Dinner will be late, after the show!
It is late afternoon and closer to the end of my work day and I feel content, but still feel a little lethargic. Perhaps, having coffee on my mind is the cause of it. However, I will not allow such thing to surrender my mind to radical toxins....pre-cleanse day seems to be a success!

Another cleanse, challenge and journey....
Last year, I completed my 30 days of daily yoga challenge and veggie cleanse, which consist of eliminating beef, poultry, pork, chicken, fish, refined sugar, caffeine, liquor, cigarettes and anything bad for the mind, body and spirit.
This year I will embark upon another journey, but with 45 days and trying gluten free or as much gluten free as I can.
Thank you to Ellen from I am Gluten Free Blogspot, for her wonderful recipes of vegetarian dishes and other gluten free recipes! This journey will be a better one, since discovering new dishes to cook, eat and I can't wait to try them all!

Missing the old days...
Is thinking about the old Reno days going to flatlands, repelling down the abandoned buildings, walking through the mines & laughing hard, trying to track down the devil worshiper hicks at lemon valley, so we can throw eggs at them, going to virginia view which was haunted and just hanging out playing streetfighter; also miss my secret crew 1st discovering the rave scene with Marty Jane, rainbow boys...Ernie (RIP) and James going to warehouse parties, SF parties and this was all before i discovered loving to wear dresses. Early 90s were my young and good old days! Now...i'm grateful for wonderful & amazing experiences across the board. Now I'm ready for Mi Casa in Mexico!

HK Star...my new Chinese Lunch Restaurant
Yes, I am Yelp Elite Member who loves food!
UYE (Unofficial Yelp Event) LUNCH with: Misti Y & Hubby, The power yelper couple Teri C. & Reggie M, Annie G., Angela H, Tony T, Jade W, Cindy D and little gorgeous Eva!
First of all we each ordered one item and had family style. We ordered the following:
Fried Cod Fillet with Salt & Pepper - It was soooo good, I think this maybe better than food express especially that it was a lunch special for $6.95
Fried Salt & Pepper Pork Chop - We had to order 2 of these because it was friggen good that we needed more! This maybe the best Fried Salt & Pepper Pork Chop in Vegas!
Kung Pao Shrimp - I am not a fan of Kung Pao, but I really liked the taste of this.
Braised beans with Beef - Succulent and Yummy
Eggplant Hot Pot - This was so good and steamy hot in my mouth which I love!
Tofu and bean sprouts Hot Pot - Amazing...I always favor tofu dishes!
Mongolian Chicken - This was very tasty and chicken texture was just right.
Shrimp Chow Fun - The flavor is wonderful and I like this style better than beef.
Regular braised Green Beans - This was also yummy with a simple taste.
Although I would love to try dinner but the prices seems a little high, HK Star will be my new to go place for lunch! 5 stars for AMAZING, non oily food and prices are from $4.95, 5.95 and 6.95!
Thanks again Misti Y. for the generous surprise and I love my Yelp Lunch box!
A round of applause to Cindy for coordinating this!

My removed review from Yelp due to personal attacks and falls outsite of Yelp guidelines....you be the judge!
Removed Review: Spay me, say me....thinks not!
Last year we took our little kitty, Kyoto, to get spayed at the Spay and Neuter Center. We were so pleased with the place because they had just opened, center was immaculate and staff was friendly.
This year both of our cats needed their rabies shot and immediately we felt compelled to take them to our new found place.
Ay yay yay! A lot can happen in less than a year! First of all, when we walked into the center everything was different. The interiors is the same but everything else was disarrayed!
The front desk clerk did not know what she was doing. She was constantly answering calls and questions from callers ( You should have heard what this lady was saying, I mean what a nincompoop!). She didn't even know how to look at our kittie's charts. She suggested to give our cats all of these shots that they didn't even need! Because if she knew how to read their charts correctly, then she would have known that one of the shots she was offering our cats already had from the previous visit!
We were flabbergasted when they planned on to taking our cats away from our hands to the back in their "procedure room" where we can't even watch if the needles are sterile and not be there to comfort our pets! That is the most insane thing that we have ever heard!!! So we requested to talk to the Vet ourselves so we can request to go in the back with our pets.
Are you ready for this? So, the Vet comes out and she looked atrocious!!! I mean this lady had stringy, frizzy hair, eyes were bulging out of her head, veins were reverting back and forth from her chin to her forehead and she just looked like she has been on cat tranquilizers and Methamphetamine for 25 years!
The look in her eyes and her presence scared us to death that as soon as she began speaking about how it is her policy to take the animals to the back.....we bolted out of there like Mr. and Mrs. Speedy Gonzalez with our cats in their tote bags.... mmmmwweeeoooonngggg!!! (or however the sound of speed goes)
I am having nightmares about this site as I yelp!

DJ Garth in Las Vegas
This weekend was a fun filled event with DJ Garth gracing us with his presence, company and music! Danced the night away at Satay for Patio Sessions and Lounge Inn Party at Artisan Pool on Sunday. We all shared many laughters with our Aussie Liam who kept us entertained and laughing forever!
It was a small Fiji reunion with the boys from Villa 3 and me! It was an epic weekend...

Ladies that I adore...
Shannyn Sossamon - I love her style. She is a mother, actress, dancer, drummer and beautiful eclectic mix of French, Hawaiian, Dutch, Irish, Filipino and German.
Rachel Zoe - I'd Die and Love her styling expertise! I enjoy her over sized accessories, bell bottom jeans, baggy or flowy shirts and beautiful dresses.
Grace Jones - She exudes the F from FIERCE!! Enough said...
Tina Chow - The fashion icon in the 70's and 80's who played with friends such as Malahno Blahnik, Andy Warhol, who were the staples of Studio 54 and amongst others alike. Tina Chow was born to a Japanese mother and German father. She married Mr. Chow, the owner of Chow restaurants. Tina Chow had sexual affairs with Richard Gere and a bisexual French fashion arbiter Kim d’Estainville.
From d’Estainville, she contracted HIV, becoming one of the first heterosexual women to become infected with the disease that would eventually end her life.
Edie Sedgwick - In spite of her troubled life and experienced resurgence, I adore her angelic beauty and then innovative style.
Sade - Simply the best!

Poetry: Once upon a thought...
Sometimes I feel that my world has come crashing down before me. Loosing control of the situation and feeling the ultimate harsh conveyance of what was said. Words so descructive that can shatter a soul. Breaking my spirit into tiny little pieces that molds into a box without any windows. Feeling stuck in a hard place but cannot break free, only feeling each pieces of my faulty existence in the dusk.
Then I think to myself, only I can allow this. So, should I stay or should I go?

My birthday food extravaganza...
This week started off with a nice brownie tray at the office from a good friend, Leslie.
A home cooked lunch with my parents eating lumpia, pancit and crispy pata....a deep fried Filipino delicacy of a front/ hind leg of a pig including the knuckles. Each scrumptious bite is so sinful!
Then Sushi dinner from my girlfriends, Amber, Shana, Sara and Monika.
Another Tuesday lunch from a new Pinay friend from work.
A homemade Italian Red Wine dinner from my musical chef, which I regret not taking any photos of the baked chicken with red sauce from scratch baked with Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese...YUM YUM in my TUM!!
A nice Raku dinner gift from the boss (noted on my Wednesday blog)
A nice Sammy's Wood fire Shrimp Salad, Duck Tacos and Wine dinner with a good friend, who will remain anonymous since she had a nice surprise in one of our bellies. Or I should say, I knew but she found out the next day.... :-)
Today is Natalie's wonderful treat to Ping Pang Pong's Dim Sum at the Gold Coast Casino.
It boggles my mind how this venue is the only one that has amazing fresh Dim Sum and clean environment--and of all places in a casino.
So, I take a bite of my favorite dim sum, fried crab ball, which is my ultimate weak spot for anything that's fried. I turn the bitten side around and noticed that my crab ball was shaped as a heart. I had to capture my bite at love.
Many thanks to all that made my birthday week so special with food, which is the way to my heart.

Yoga
My single leg wheel pose looks fierce and strong! But deep down inside me, I knew that going into the posture was not purely natural and that I needed more practice. What am I doing in this posture anyway? Should I be proud? By the look of it, yes. It's a posture that is vigorous, however re-visiting my passion and to practice continuously will only make myself proud. A daily practice with love and I will relentlessly do so until a union occurs between the mind, body and spirit.
Raku...
Raku is our favorite restaurant. It tastes just like Tokyo. The boss was kind enough to present a gift to enjoy the Kaiseki: Japanese traditional course style cuisine, of Raku.
Frankie and I ordered 8 pieces of our favorite Yakitori....Pork Cheek....YUM!!
We also had the following:
Chicken Wing - 4 pieces
Asparagus - 2 pieces
Mushroom - 2 pieces
Raku's homemade Tofu - 1 order
Soba Buckwheat Noodle Salad - 2 orders
Sashimi Salad - 1 order
Sapporo Beer - 3 glasses
and a toast to give thanks to the BOSS!
We love Raku...

I am feeling 33 and free...
Today, I look back at my life. The trials and turbulences that I have experienced and won with a fight. I caused pain, received pain, gave love, received love, took others for granted, others took me for granted, yelled passionately, passionately got yelled at and each time I fall; I always seem to get up and fight back! I fought really hard for what felt was right in my heart.
Eventually, I found a place where I can taste the serenity, security, happiness, love, share forever old and brand new friendships that is everlasting. I found a new world of music, smiles, food, fashion and everything but the girl that I used to be. Now, I just look back and LAUGH at myself until freedom reins...
